Faith-Two Reasons Why Faith Fails

September 30, 2010 Leave a comment

Most people attain faith out of the belief that the world will suddenly come into perfection. They are however surprised when things do not go according to plan and they start asking themselves why and at the same time start to lose their faith. It is common to find someone who is just tired of their faith they just do not understand anymore why they believed in the first place.

The first reason why most of us fail in faith is that we believe and we stop there. Instead of understanding that faith is incomplete without action we begin to think that faith has some magical presence which just makes things happen on their own. True when you believe in something it attracts good energy but at the end of the day one needs to have done something in order for what one desires to happen. Life needs a push in order for it to happen which is why when a woman gives birth she just does not sit there and expect the baby to be delivered effortlessly, there must be that birthing push otherwise there would be serious problems. When we eat we just do not put food into our mouth and by faith believe that the food is just going to sink in, we need to work. Nature on its own testifies that for anything to happen no matter how much it is supposed to be there must be a form of effort put into the different processes for there to be progress.

The second reason why faith fails is that most of the time people are looking for someone else to come and do things for them. In other words most people just think that someone else should come and do things for them. When people talk about the future being alright most of the time they are saying that they expect some magical person or events to occur which will make things happen from them. When it never happens they complain and blame everyone around. Nothing happens on its own and no one can guess what another person all the time and act out for the other person.  Personal responsibility is what lacks when it comes to most people and their faith, instead of climbing the mountain most people expect someone else to come up with the idea of climbing the mountain. Most people instead of speaking out against racism, injustices, and all other bad things in the world; they just keep quiet and hope that someone else will speak. Most people lose out on creating history simply because they expect someone else to come around and do what they have always believed must be done.  Greatness is not something that is copyrighted but it is something which for those who believe truly understand that it is there for them to take.

Faith is very powerful when used appropriately. We use faith every day, when we travel by air, when we eat, when we go to sleep, when we have children and in all that we do as we breathe. We do most of things we do believing that the outcome will be favorable to us. Our greatest enemy is never outside of ourselves but inside of our own unbelief.

360 Degrees Vision

September 29, 2010 1 comment

Two eyes are what we believe we have when we are looking at problems or objectives. Most of the time we only consider what we are facing at that moment such that we never really consider what could be on the side or behind us. Our plans are based on what we are focused on in terms of our direct vision yet they are so many different ways to see things. Our vision does not need to be limited to what we see directly but can become a 360 degree vision.

God is god because we believe that He sees all things past, present, and future. As humans we struggle in our many inventions trying to find ways in which we can be able to have a vision of what the future would be like and what we can do today. Sometimes if not most of the time we walk blindly without understanding what is behind the corner. Life, however, does not need to be a blind alley in which at any moment anything can happen. Life does not need to be story of chance and luck in which we are just helpless passengers who just cross their fingers and hope everything works out for them until the destination. As people we need to realize that we do not see with our eyes but rather we see with our minds first. In other words it is not direct vision of the eyes which has vision but rather the mind.

The truth is we use our bodies for physical interaction so what we see is supposed to help us to be able to get around not necessarily to succeed in life.  Our vision starts from the mind in different forms in which we use different words to describe what we see. We use words like imagination, dreams, hope, knowledge, understanding, love and all that yet it is all part of being able to see. The easiest way to travel the world and see all places is to read a book. You can go to China simply by reading a book and your imagination fires up and all of a sudden you begin to see the country. Most human beings have never seen that the earth is round but have been taught that it is round and hence they see it in their heads. The pictures we see could just be a total lie but because we see in our minds we believe it and hence it becomes true to us. Now what does this have to do with solving problems and achieving goals in life?

What most of us miss is that life does not happen outside first but happens inside of us first. When a person says they love you, the love they have for you is inside of them and not in you. So a person can love you and you would not feel anything for them because there is nothing inside of you for them as yet. Everything we call anything happens inside us first before we express it outside for example before you pick a pen you have imagined the action first. While you are sitting down without any provocation from anyone you can just decide to get angry, happy, sad or just depresses, not because someone did something to you but because you decided it inside and you begin to see it.  Vision is what you see inside not what you see outside. When we look directly at something we see what we are facing, but when we look at it in our imagination we see all the sides we choose to see. In other words in our minds, in our imagination we can see 360 degrees around the object or idea. This is what separates the genius from the ordinary, a person who can see the whole picture from a person who sees what is in front of them. This is why someone can start an idea and become a millionaire from it and everyone else just falters.

When you have a problem you do not solve it outside, you solve it inside then you implement. It is best first to sit and look at the problem from your mind, so that you see the origin, the environment, the causes, the solutions and the after effects. When you can do this, you can solve any problem in the world. Any idea can be implemented as long as one has the vision, you just need to see it inside first. We misunderstand people because we choose to see what is directly in front of us, we misunderstand economies because we only hear what we have been told but do not seek to see all around the economy, we lack in success because we never choose to see the road to success in its completion. This is the biggest problem humans have, being unaware and lacking knowledge but only seeing what is in front of them. This is what leads to defeat in wars and in life.

God Does Not Sleep and Money Also, But…….

September 28, 2010 Leave a comment

There is a verse in the Bible that says God does not sleep otherwise if he did the universe would end. Now interestingly enough as humans we have created our own value system for which money does not sleep. Money in essence is the image of our value system, in other words we see money as representing what we are worth. On the other hand the Bible says we are the image of God. Now if God does not sleep and money does not sleep where does it then place us?

Just like God we like to create things, which is why our world looks the way it does today and changes after every turn of the century because we just love to create. Our problem though is more about vision and our ability to literally sleep. Not just sleep in terms of closing our eyes but also in closing our minds and losing sight of what we create. Now God made his creations and according to that belief he is always watching and has a plan for what should happen in the future because he values his children. We on the other hand create money and we believe it has value but from time we forget what the objective for it is and sometimes lose sight of it.

Money is useless by itself; it has no plan and does not think. Money is a servant which when you direct it to something it just moves and does what it is supposed to. The thing is that most of the time we think that money is in charge when we are the ones who are supposed to be in charge. We equate money to God yet money has no form of intelligence. This is why most of the time we think money will take care of us forgetting that everything we do is actually telling money how it must work for us. Just because we go to sleep at night does not mean that money should also sleep, this is why we are broke. If you work for eight hours a day you are just telling money that you need it to come to you in that value which is eight hours. For everything that you do, you are either creating or subtracting value, most people are not aware of this which is why we say these people are sleeping.

Receiving a salary does not mean that money will take care of you; it just means that you have to decide what to do with that money. It is not that money is not enough but rather it is just that we have not done anything good enough to get enough of the money. If you look in the mirror do you see what you are doing which makes money not sleep or you and your money sleep at the same time? Most people when they go to sleep their money also goes to sleep, which is why some people have thousands of dollars in their accounts but never enjoy life because they are afraid of money. Banks are supposed to be a place of transit for money not a home for money. You should have a minimum amount you keep in your bank for emergencies but that minimum must not stay there forever, it must be replaced by another minimum. It is like the exchanging of the guard. One guard guards today and is replaced by another. The replaced guard goes somewhere else to do another work. The rate at which you replace the money in the bank will show just how much work your money does for you.

Money is a servant which must serve us not the other way round. In fact money must worship us because we are the ones who have the power to make it exist or not. When you get one thousand dollars in your account what does it achieve for you or does it just sit there and accumulate.

Christian Magicians

September 28, 2010 2 comments

This world belongs to people who do and not to people who think. It is useless to think and never implement what you thought of. It is useless to believe and never actually do what you believe in. The thing about life is that everyone thinks and everyone believes in something, but at the end of the day reality is created by those who take the time to create and not those who think it.

When people become Christian ninety percent of them expect that the world will change and that their lives will become better, and they are then shocked when life does not change. The expectation usually is that the Holy Spirit will come and just like that, all things will make sense and solutions will be as common as the sand. Down the line you find the same people disappointed after years of being a Christian and living ordinary lives they become resigned to the hope that one day it will be fine after they are dead. You find the same people in church crying about the same problems year in and year out. When you move in different churches you will discover that Christians practically use the same statements, “Waiting for my Breakthrough”, “Getting into the presence of God”, “Let us petition God”, “Just believe” and many other phrases. The interesting thing is that these are phrases which are used in expectation that God is a coffee machine. In other words most of these phrases are said believing that things will magically come into place.

Now on the other side when you carefully read the Bible one will discover interesting things. When Jesus healed he always said that the person’s faith had healed them. When David was anointed king he first had to do a lot of fighting before  he could claim the throne, Abraham had to do a lot of walking before he could settle in the promised land, Joseph had to interpret quite a lot of dreams before his dream came true, Moses had to talk to pharaoh nine times before he got any success, Jacob had to work for several years before he got his spouse, Noah had to personally build the ark in order to save the world, Elijah had to challenge the prophets of Baal before he defeated them, the disciples had to leave their homes to spread the gospel, and of course Paul had to find the prophet before he could receive his eye sight back. What did they all have in common, they did something and lived their destinies unlike most of us.

So then what is the problem with today’s Christians? Instead of doing most people are busy believing and fantasising. The world is going to the dogs literally while most people are waiting for someone else to do something. The strange thing is salvation brings light into one’s life so that they can see better, when they can see better they can act better. You would expect a person who has better vision to be more efficient but it is the other way round. Instead of using the vision to build a better world the Christians instead believes in magic. In Genesis it says humans are blessed and should have dominion over the world, meaning that dominion does not come by magic but comes by action.

When You Do Nothing, Nothing Happens

September 8, 2010 Leave a comment

The best way to get no results in life is to do nothing. Most people expect something magical to happen or something strange of peculiar to suddenly change their lives so that their prayers are somehow answered. Unfortunately life does not work that way.

It is one thing to believe in the power of words but it is another thing to actual prove the power of words.  Everyone has something that they want to see happening in life or something they feel they truly need. We sit down every day and pray so hard for that thing to come but it never seems to come, or perhaps we look at all the wars happening in all these countries and we hope one day they will end but the truth is they just do not end. It is like world war one and two; all the nations could have just stood aside and prayed for a miracle that the enemy would somehow be defeated. If we recall history some people had to die for victory to be attained. There is a time to pray and a time to get things done. People can sit in their churches hoping that somehow things will change or they can get up and make something happen.

There is no car that drives itself, no building that builds itself, no team that wins without playing, no phone call that makes itself; for everything there must be the hand of a person. If we just sit and wait for things to happen then we should not be surprised that more than often things happen to us. It is strange how people can wait hoping for change to come but have no idea where change comes from or what has to be done in order for things to change in their life. God works with faith which is why it is impossible to please him without faith. The equation is that simple, no action no food. There is no food that just ends up in your mouth, you have to get up and get it or do something. In order to eat your body must do something, no one just breathes you have to put action into it.

Most Christians like to pray a lot about everything which is good but most never follow up their prayers with action. The great stories that we read in the bible did not just happen by themselves, they are characters and persons through who the actions had to happen. The waters of the red sea did not just part, Moses had to lift his hand, Goliath did not just die but David had to walk into battle. All the countless stories in the bible always required the presence of a person who would then follow on the prayers. A nation is not liberated by prayer alone but by belief which acts on the prayer. You can sit in your room and pray like never before but if your faith has no works it is dead.

Tackling Fear

September 3, 2010 Leave a comment

In our lifetimes we all face fear in one thing or another, it maybe the fear of people, governments, situations or fear of the future. In all of this we can become so gripped with fear that we never really live beyond the ordinary and our lives just end as a potential that never matured.

As we grow up we quickly learn fear either from experience or simply from the many voices around us, it maybe that we have fear because of what our friends told us or our parents, politicians or just from movies and songs. Without doubt we make most of our decisions according to how much fear we overcome because of the faith we have. Now talking about overcoming fear can sound very dogmatic or it can be a practical thing. It is one thing to say I am not afraid but it is also another thing to overcome fear. It is necessary to believe that one can overcome fear but at the end of the day that belief can only be proved when you overcome the fear.

Overcoming fear is not a stepped approach or rather one does not need a manual which spells out how to overcome fear. Jesus was famous for always telling people have no fear. Jesus recognised that fear has entrenched itself into people such that it has become a culture. We as people are now such firm believers of fear that we think it is natural to fear yet fear is actually not natural, in any case fear is an enemy that comes in the form of whispers. It just whispers into your mind and soul and you decide to listen. If a person wants to defeat fear all they have to do is decide and do. It is like deciding to wake up, you have a choice, if you think too much you might not wake up at the time which you intended, such is the way fear works. Consequences do exist in life for anything we do but does it mean we give up living the way we really need? Tackling fear is a matter of decision.

As long as a person sees themselves as inferior they will always have fear because they will always feel threatened by situations. However, if you believe that you are blessed and that you can overcome anything then fear must not become part of your culture. There is a difference between fear and respect. You can respect your leaders but it does not mean you must fear them. You can respect your elders but it does not mean you must fear them; the only being whom we should fear is the one who is able to destroy both body and spirit. Not having fear is not an opportunity to commit illegal acts but is a door to do the right things. If we decide that we are not afraid then we must teach our children differently, we must teach them that shadows can be respected but not feared, poisonous snakes deserve their respect but not our fear. It is at this early age that the tone is set as to what whispers your children will listen to.

You decide what deserves your fear. What you decide to give your fear to is what will rule you and will decide what level or standard of life you will have. If you do not fear anything in the world then there is nothing you cannot accomplish. You need to decide in your life what deserves your fear.

Bad Investment Relationships-Where to Draw the Line

September 1, 2010 Leave a comment

Once in a while in our lives we experience some very bad relationships or associations which just seem to take so much out of us, some relationships maybe economic, social or simply just political. It is not always easy to draw the line but that line has to be drawn or else you will drown.

Relationships determine how far you will go in life. Good relationships can be the catapult to extreme wealth whilst some relationships can just be the nail to a coffin of poverty. Firstly, they are some relationships which we get involved in for the purpose of economic wealth such as jobs, investments, and business. We tie ourselves to these with the vision that one day we will get a return or pay day which will result in us getting wealthy but in the end it never happens. Jesus spoke about the parable of the tree in the garden which had been natured for three years but still was not producing anything. The owner of the garden decided that because he was not getting anything he was better off cutting down the tree. However the gardener pleaded with the owner for one year in which he would give all the attention possible so that if it does fail on the fourth year he would then cut it down.

For every investment you make you must have a defined period in which you expect a return. It must be a specific period it the case of the owner in the parable, it was three years. However whenever you make an investment make sure you have done all that is possible to ensure that the investment works so that when it fails you know you did all you could, this is the fourth year that the gardener pleaded for. The last thing you want in life is to waste precious time on investments which do not work, after the age of life on earth is quite short.

Some relationships are based on the basis which they are made. For example we can make investments based on the attachments we have with people or the reputation we have heard from people about the opportunities which exists. It is like the parable of the talent where the servant buries his talent in the ground. The problem was not the one talent he had and neither was it the ground where the talent was buried. For all we know the ground could have been very fertile and the talent could have been a very shiny coin. The problem was the thinking process of determining what kind of a relationship could be created between the coin and the ground. Instead of recognising that there is no benefit in putting a talent in the ground, the servant believed this was a worthwhile investment. His created relationship based on the ability of the ground keeping things safe resulted in him not creating any value at all. It is like this with most people when it comes to their jobs, businesses and investment, they bury their money in believing it is safe but at the end or turn of the year they never realise any value.

Whatever investment we make in life we need to recognise that value creation is important. We need to understand time and being specific. As Christians being wise is a very prudent thing to choose so that we move along.
