Turn On The Light

July 27, 2011 Leave a comment

In the morning bath in wisdom so that you may start your day clean. Break your night fast on philosophy and understanding of what is required of you to pass the day. Invest your mind on thoughts to plant actions for the rest of the day. As you prepare to step out into the busy world take a piece of bread with you for this will provide life to you when you feel hungry. Ensure that you are clothed to welcome, attack and to defend yourself, so forget not to arm yourself also with knowledge and awareness but beautified with peace.

In your travels across the plains of the world, be determined forever focused on your vision. Rest only to gather strength for the next step. Watch your company because you might attract thieves and conmen. Keep your purse close to your heart and your plans inside your heart. Do not ask directions from just about anyone but find someone who speaks your language, do not tell them your mission but tell them your path. When unsure of what to do in life tell the truth because truth is the easiest way to fool a person. Say a silent prayer when no one is looking so that you may maintain your privacy.

As you walk on the road of life, they will be detractors, people bent on seeing you fail. They will invite you into the comforts of their home, or offer you good food you never had before, do not be fooled because it never really is yours, it is only a distraction. Remember all food is passed out at the end of the day and the house is not yours until it is in your name. In all your dealings say thank you, when they cheat you thank them for their time at least they did not kill you. Do not borrow what you cannot give back immediately otherwise your success will be ransomed for what you borrowed. Drink water for it is life’s best thirst quencher but do not be drunk on substitutes for they may kill you.

Keep in touch with your friends but of all keep God as your best friend. Only run when you are confident and never stop when you are supposed to be moving. Once in a while look at the stars for you never know they might lead you to the birth of a king. Listen to the wind it might bring you warnings and news to guide you. Enjoy the rain and never curse it for it refreshes the weary traveler. Love the ground you walk on; be thankful you are not buried in it. Be gracious to strangers for these might be angels. Welcome advice even bad advice but select carefully what you listen to. Look at the time daily for it is a reminder of where you are going. When you sleep, make sure you lock the door and close the window but keep your purse under your pillow. Watch others for surely someone is watching you.

Count your blessings and multiply them, never refuse a gift even if it seems not to have purpose during your journey. Do not keep old rags because they will only weigh you down, your greatest treasure is in heaven never forget that. Smile whenever you can it will make you younger. Laugh more it will bring peace to you. Greet those who come into your path but do not befriend them. Be silent when people around you argue but offer advice if it will save a life. Do not worry when a storm comes, it is nature’s way of assuring you that you are still alive. Admire the trees for you might notice fruit to eat on your journey. Read a book, for inside every book is experience and knowledge. Do not be afraid to share your food but never share your ideas unless it is with a friend. Close your eyes to blink during the day and keep watching where you are going.

Remember my friend, in life you will meet fools but in their foolishness is a lesson of wisdom. Doors will be opened for you but remember to open doors for others. Practice daily exercise it will keep you healthy. The night is not a place of fear but a time of inspiration so use it wisely. Share your bed with your spouse only because that is your heart and body. In whichever place you leave make sure you leave it the way you found it or better than you found it, never leave it worse. Let your name be remembered only for the good and apologize for the bad. Reach out to the poor for this might be your door to success. Keep a journal with you and write all your dealings.

Finally my friend, make sure you always turn the light so that you may see your way. Carry a torch with you for the darkness can come swiftly upon the land. Your oil should always have a reserve because sometimes the nights can be long and you need to light your way. Never walk in the dark unless if God’s light is leading you. Sleep in your room after you have seen that it is safe when you turn on the light. Never depend on other people’s light for they may take it away from you, keep yours in case of emergencies. Always remember to hide in the shadow of God because He is the light you need. Trust me on this my friend, you can forget everything I have told you today but never forget to turn on the light.

The Window of Prayer

July 25, 2011 2 comments

Every house has a window, and every locked up place has an opening. Even heaven testifies that it has a window by which blessings are poured out, but sometimes we misunderstand the windows and their openings.

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heavens, a time to sow and a time to reap. We live in a world judged by time but ordered by eternity. Would you pray for a bumper harvest if you never planted the crop? Would you pray to receive if you never gave anything in your life? Can a miracle be given if faith is not proven? Many times we pray for riches but we lack the storehouses, we seek fame yet we lack the wisdom to use the fame. In an exam a student may pray to pass yet they never read, a person may pray to be on time yet they woke up late, an athlete may pray to win a race yet they never trained for it
A man wakes up and prays for a business that makes money for him and his family. Everyday he prays but it does not seem like his prayer is being answered. Finally he resigns to himself and declares that there is no God. Yet when he prayed his prayer was answered on the first day, all he had to do was actually start a business and the riches would have come to him. A woman wakes up and prays that her children should be intelligent. Every day she prays but her children never seem to improve. She also, like the man, resigns and declares God does not care. Yet on the first day that she prayed God answered her prayer and laid intelligence for her children to take, all she needed to do was ensure that they read and she participated in their homework. A husband prays that his wife may one day understand what he does at his work. He is frustrated that she never seems to notice how hard he works, yet God already answered his prayers. All he needed to do was talk to his wife more and she would understand what he goes through at work.

In a city not so far from where you live a woman coming from the salon prays that it should stop raining yet all the famers have been waiting for the rains to come. A man prays hard that his team may win a football match yet the other team has sacrificed more to build a championship team. A student kneels to pray and petitions God to give him the girl that he saw the other day, yet unknown to the student the girl is having an affair with the professor in his class. The driver who is stuck in traffic prays to God “please let me go through in time”, yet where he is going if he is to arrive on time there is a bomb set to detonate at that particular time. A preacher stands and daily asks his congregation to go out and preach to the world yet the congregation has no idea why they actually come to church. An employer sits on his desk and prays that this year may he triple his revenue but he is not answered simple because he never shares his profits with his employees when they come.

Every house has a window, and every locked up place has an opening. Even heaven testifies that it has a window by which blessings are poured out, but sometimes we misunderstand the windows and their openings.

You Do Not Own Problems

July 21, 2011 Leave a comment

No person in the world owns a problem unless if they think they do. We tend to personalize problems yet they do not belong to us.

When you were born the only thing you had was breath. You had a mind and I think you still do, so all that was to you is mind, soul and spirit. Along the way you got things like beliefs, situations, relationships, dreams, visions and you even decided to collect problems. What we do not realize is that problems like dreams and visions can be changed because they are not what you are. What you are is not your vision or your dreams, you are just a person. Think of what you were when you were born, this is who you are. If you were born into a poor house it does not mean this is who you are, you never came with it, you are just in it, but it does not mean you cannot change the circumstances. It is the weak mind that owns problems. The funny thing is when we die we leave everything that we had, which is a clever way that nature reminds us that we own nothing in the world. Everything that you think you own is just a tool to use in life to make life better. It can be here today and it can be gone tomorrow. That is how life is; you need to decide what it is for you. Do you really own a problem?

Life is like selecting channels to watch. In life you have over a million channels which you can watch, just because you found yourself on one channel does not mean you cannot change the channel. You have to decide to take the remote and look for the channel that makes you happy. You should never decide that because someone turned your TV to a depressing channel it becomes yours to watch, you still have a choice to change it. If you just sit and let someone else use the remote to your life channels you will be depressed. In life problems are like bad TV programming on a TV channel, if you stick with it you will be sad but if you change channels you will find what you like. Don’t own the channels of life, own the remote control to changing your life. We all have a control of what we participate in life. You cannot control the channels being broadcast but you can control which ones you want to watch. Before you is life and death choose life. Sometimes the channel you thought was good can all of a sudden have a bad program for an hour or so, it is up to you to change or wait for the next good program. The broadcaster will give you different programs at different times of the day; it is up to you to decide to take or to be stuck with the same channel. Remember there is a time and season for everything.

A person can say “I have a money problem”, but what does that really mean? Does it mean on their head it is labeled poor, or does it mean that you are in a situation in which money is not yet available to you. No one owns money we just claim the right to use it. The same one dollar note gets passed around all over the world because no one owns it. If you really owned money then we would all have the same notes with serial numbers in our lives and we would never give them away. Owning a car or house does not mean you own it, it just means you created a situation to be with the car or the house, when you die you will leave it behind. The question we should ask ourselves is what tools am I gathering to make use of in life or if I do not have access to the tools what am I doing to get one?

Instead of owning a problem, implement solutions to challenge what is in front of you. We create perceptions that problems belong to us and hence we move around with heavy chains around our necks tied to the problem. It is this which when an opportunity comes we decide because we own a problem we will not take the opportunity. We identify ourselves so much with a problem to the extent that we think it defines who we are. You are not any of the t things which you think are a problem, they are just events and situations or in simple terms just channels. You are not a money problem, or whatever problem you think you have. You are a person who has a choice in what they can do and achieve. If you think you are poor you will dream poor, if you think you are a victim you will always be a victim. Don’t stand and just take the rubbish a situation gives you, move yourself to where life gives you diamonds. So hey, do you really own a problem?

Digging a Little Deeper

July 19, 2011 Leave a comment

In life there is an excuse for everything that exists. There is always a reason why you cannot do something or why you cannot succeed. If you do not dig a little deeper you might never find the water in the drought.

It is easy to talk about starting a business and believing you will be successful but it is not easy believing in your own success, most of the time when people think of business they are simply being romantic, and never actually practical. They will talk about how they one day will own this and that but the problem is they never actually talk about the how. If you are to dig for water in any place, understanding that you are looking for water is good but knowing how to dig towards the water is genius in itself. Instead of just declaring that one day you will one day dominate the market instead speak of how you intend to achieve this. It is of no use to look at the target but not to know the path. If you do not understand the path and what needs to be done to travel that path, then surely you will get lost.

In the societies that we live in, most people fantasize about being rich but have no idea how to achieve this. Digging for water is not just a fantasy, but an action which requires your strength, determination, and perseverance. Sometimes in your quest for water you might hit a rock, and you need to dig around it, sometimes you might have to blast through the rock, sometimes people will stand around you and tell you that you are wasting your time, sometimes you might be so tired you feel you cannot go on anymore. At the time that challenges come along, it does not mean you stop it just means you need to dig a little deeper. Focus and carry on digging, rest for a while as you regain energy but wake up the next day and dig a little deeper.

The water already exists and is just waiting for the person who digs a little deeper. That person may be evil, good or just simply confused but as the saying goes it rains on the evil and the good. No matter how much of a saint you are if you stand and never dig, you will never reach the water. The water will still remain and the person who comes along and digs a little deeper will benefit. If you spend your life thinking about digging but never actually doing it then you are no different from a person who knows nothing about the water. If you speak about how one day you will dig but never actually dig, then you are as good as a sounding drum or any other instrument that belongs to a band of other purposeless sounding instruments. A million dollars is always waiting for that person who actually starts the business and preservers. At the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold but only the person who journeys through the rainbow will reach it. Sure they will be trouble along the way, but dig a little deeper.

If there is anything to learn from this article, just remember that in life in order to succeed you need to dig a little deeper. The person who walks the extra miles covers the most distance. The child who reads the extra book gains more knowledge. The company that gains a new market gains the most revenue. The employee who does more gains the most experience. The family that prays more sticks together longer. In life just dig a little deeper.
Lots of Love

The Art of Creativity

“This is madness”, is a quote from the movie 300 when King Leodinas defies the order of a King Xerxes intending to occupy his land with a million soldiers. A mere 300 soldiers fighting an army so huge is not just madness, it is the art of creativity.

We speak of many geniuses such as Einstein, Madam Curie, Thomas Edison, and the likes, man and women who dared to see the constructs of the world and how it could be shaped differently. At the height of their journey into discovery they were labeled as mad but at the height of their discovery they were called creative genius. The art of creativity perhaps is madness in its own right, otherwise how would a conventional society describe a person who sits around, wonders why the apple falls from a tree instead of just eating the apple. How else would we describe a person who sits and dreams of putting a personnel computer in every household, or that person who lives his or her homeland to look for diamonds in a country which they have never been to; and where the language is strange, and makes no sense to them at all. Perhaps the art of creativity is madness after all or perhaps the genius is normal and we are mad.

I find it funny that the English vocabulary has over two hundred thousand words but we only use three thousand unique words. Of these three thousand words we concentrate on the negative words, if you doubt just listen to the news or read the news papers. The most dominant words are the words that cause panic, fear, hurt, anger, and hopelessness. What makes news in our society are not the people, it is the words that are used in the reports. It is thus no wonder that every day we hear of recession, serial killers, hunger, diseases and the likes simply because we are dead in vocabulary. Creativity creates new words of action, look at Shakespeare and see how he created words which led to the success of his books and gave us more flare to the English language. We speak of impossible as if it is our totem or god, yet impossible is not even a true word it is a lying word. We think complaining is fashionable and impossible is a lifestyle hence no wonder we are not creativity.

A person who questions little is usually a follower but a person who questions the most is a leader. It is easy to distinguish followers and leaders, just by talking to them for a few minutes. A follower sees the universe as just is and the leader will ask why, how and what could be. Being creative is not just about sitting it is about sitting and asking why am I sitting and not doing something else. Most people accept whatever they are told which is why they are never creative, whilst those who question everyday will find new things. Creativity is an answer to challenges and not an acceptance of problems. Creativity is something different and normal is something familiar. If we all accepted that flying is for birds only, we would never be where we are today. Creativity leads and acceptance follows.

“You believe in God, but so do the demons also”, is a statement I have found to be quite eye opening. It is good to know about things and yet do nothing beneficial with the knowledge is the devils trademark. Never complain if you do not have a solution. Be stuck in a routine if only that routine is creating something new every time for you. Earn enough to buy new things, let keeping old things be a choice and not out of not being able to buy. Dream to discover new boundaries and sleep to find new dreams. Speak to communicate and inform but never speak to destroy. Love in order to increase in strength but never love to fail. Out of 200, 000 words try to choose the creative ones. God never said at the beginning of creation “let us destroy the nothingness”, instead he chose “Let us make”. We are a reflection of our level of creativity. Look at your life it is the exact reflection of how creative you have been in life is.
