How Wise is the Serpent?

January 31, 2012 Leave a comment

Disadvantaged, lacking easy mobility, not very good vision sometimes, being hunted for no reason at all, yet in all this remaining feared by most and worshipped by some, then perhaps it is only fair to ask, how wise is the serpent?

Every religion takes mention of the serpent in one form or the other, for some it is the fall of men, for some it is the wisdom and healing prowess of life. Yet throughout history the snake has remained in every major continent in the world a species, surviving against all odds yet not having the greatest advantages when compared to most animals. Jesus in the bible advises his disciples that they should be as wise as the serpent but as harmless as the doves, yet another reference to the serpent in the bible. The world is a treacherous place where if one is not careful life is decided for you. For most people life has already been decided for them, they are simple dependents on what is given to them and are not independent enough to survive to fulfill their dreams. Their travel is restricted by salary budgets their dreams limited to when they close their eyes to sleep. Yet in all aspects most people have more mobility than the snake, can construct houses, are intelligent beyond animals and naturally have greater dreams than the serpent but still life eludes them.

For those who have ever encountered a snake, truth be told you can find a snake where you were not expecting. Sometimes the camouflage can be so good you might walk right by one and never know. You know a fool by the noise the fool makes, a fool only has to speak and from then on you understand his or her folly. The serpent on the other hand maintains its peace and knows the value of keeping peace, not being a coward. Most people like to be seen hence they make enough noise, yet they do not understand that for each action there is a reaction. For your every appearance a cause of action will occur, yet if you calculate your appearance you can be cause what you want to occur to happen. In other words, don’t be as common as dirt because people will not value you. There are thousands of snakes around the jungle but few ever come out in plain sight when they do, those who see them do take notice and change their course of action in favor of the snake.

Step on someone today and see how they react, in most cases people will let you know how they felt about that. If however your baby or your husband or wife steps on you and smiles and says sorry, it’s like nothing happened. There is no trace of anger or trace of malice. We quickly recognize that no malice was intended, yet when a stranger does that we jump to attack mode without thinking for a moment it was just a mistake. If you think that this is a lie then when driving cut in front of someone and see what they say to you in New York. In most times we actually trespass a snakes habitant and we never know it or see the snake. We step our feet before the snake and never even know it because the snake never attacks us. Every snake has learnt to assess, ignore take flight, or just lie low, only when a life threatening event occurs then the snake comes out in full sight for a fight. We on the other hand want to fight every fight, engage every argument, make our opinion heard for every case and simply be seen to be territorial. Sometimes it’s best to just keep quiet and lay low for a while.

The temperature of a snake is regulated by the body, hence the term cold blooded. Once in a while the snake comes out to bask in the sun, and enjoy the rays of the sun. In life you need to learn to chill out as they say and enjoy the best nature has to offer. A day on the beach would not hurt you, just find whats good for you and enjoy it as much as you can. Shed the old things and buy yourself something new, after all, the snake sheds its skin once in a while. Take time to relax and digest your food, after all, the snake also digests its food in time. Last but not least learn at least one skill and perfect that skill. The snake in its disadvantages has learnt how to move in places a creature of is characteristics should not, where visions and hearing fail it, it has perfected its sense of smell. With these skills it is a formidable enemy to anyone who dares challenges, who might have a better vision of life.

So how wise is the serpent most people may wonder, well just read in between the lines and shed your old skin.

The Victory of Calm

January 20, 2012 Leave a comment

Within the calmness of the mind is the alignment of power. Nature teaches us that the centre of the hurricane is the calmness which is critical to the formation of the destructive power of the hurricane.

If the driver of the bus was always panicking then the bus would certainly have countless number of accidents. If the president of the world’s most powerful nation was trigger happy then the world would sooner than later be plunged into a dark age. The solution of an argument is the compromise of calmness, the understanding of a situation is the peace of mind that listens. For everything that is or which is to be there is a centre which must drive it to execution. The calmer the driver the better the judgments and the closer to perfection is the execution. Do not be fooled, being calm is not being quiet, neither is it being weak, and it will never mean being passive. Being calm is a state from which life’s greatest activities are driven and achieved. In calmness is the greatest manipulation and the best violence, just look at the power of the hurricane.

Panic breeds reaction and reaction which is not thought out will breed regrets. A gentle tongue turns away wrath whilst an agitated tone promotes irritation. The peace within the room is maintained by a cool head whilst the hot head plants seeds of strife. The strength of any marriage is found in tolerance and patience, the love of any person is grounded in a heart that has entered a rest. The calm pace of an explanation assures the audience but the rushed definition brings doubt and mistrust. A calm king is deemed as wise whilst a noisy king is thought of as a simpleton. The best gardens maintain their beauty in a calm atmosphere and the turbulent weather promotes disorder in the plant world.

The victory of calm is when in your mind you can maintain peace when life is disorderly; it is the love that is found in the coolness of patience, the truth that is maintained at the threat of violence, the greatness that calms the opposition of life. The victory of calm will always prove itself in time; calmness will outlast all panic and will outdo all imaginations. Be still in your heart and mind; and you will align to the power of any situation. Life is a state of calm in which power is connected between all. Detach yourself from panic and attach yourself to calmness. The greater the calm the stronger the connections; here lies the secret of life, be still and know that He is God.

Pursue and Overtake

January 16, 2012 Leave a comment

Whatever standard you have set in your life is not the ultimate goal of your life it is the base or rather ground zero of your life. What you think is the greatest you can achieve is actually the least you must achieve.

Many of us set goals in life and when we achieve them we think we have reached the ultimate standard of life. Some people set having a wedding as the ultimate standard for having a relationship and hence when they have a wedding they think they have arrived. Others may dream of owning a business and when they finally have it they think that is what life is all about after all is done. Those who go to university think when they finish their degrees that they are now made and ready for the world, yet after they finish university they discover it is only the beginning. What you set as your standard is not your ultimate goal in life it is just the base of the greater things that you must achieve. It is actually just the foundation from which you will build greater houses and greater kingdoms.

Anyone who builds a house knows that the foundation is the most critical part of the building if they are to build a great and lasting building. No matter how beautiful the walls, windows, doors, ceiling and roof maybe, it will all count for nothing if the foundation is weak. It is the foundation which sets the strengths of the house; hence your standard of life must have a foundation from which everything else can stand. If there is a dream that you have ever had in life then that dream is the foundation of anything else to come, what you must do as a person is to pursue and overtake that dream. You must always go beyond whatever you dream of. If you had a great wedding day then you must go beyond the day and create the greatest marriage, if you believed in owning a business then you must go beyond a single business to create a multinational business, if you believed in having a degree you must go beyond university to having the greatest career possible.

The standard that you set for yourself is what you step on in order to reach the stars, if you are stepping on quick sand you will soon sink, if you are relying on fly by night friends you will soon be alone, the value of the base of your life must be built from your strength and your character. Everything that you will achieve in life is a reflection of who you are. If you are quick to give up, your base will also be quick to give in. Pursue your dreams and goals with energy but do not settle on just pursuing them, overtake them and build yourself an empire. Don’t think you have arrived simply because you have achieved that objective that has eluded you for all those years; it is just the base and the beginning.

There are many stars in the night sky but no single star is on the same place as the other, but at least we view them from one base which is the earth. It is on this base that we find life, and hope for the future to explore even more of the sky. When things go wrong in space we know we have earth to come back to. If we were to run out of water in space we know earth has plenty of it. In looking for other planets in the universe, we do so by comparing to the standard we have on earth, because we know the earth we are able to look for something better or equal and we are quick to shy away from anything less than the earth, simply because our standard is already high. Wisdom is not expensive; ignoring it is what will cost you.

The Violent Take It By Force

January 13, 2012 1 comment

The creative genius and the regular person are two opposites in which one creates for success and the other creates for failure and only the violent genius takes the glory. The limitation of any person alive today rests in the understanding of who they are and what they are.

Everything within our minds we learn from experience, being told and from imagination. Ninety-nine point nine percent of the things we fear we have never experienced but we fear them because we have been told and we have imagined them. As a result we never venture into anything because of what we have heard can happen. We might have read in a newspaper that the economy is falling, or that certain businesses are bound to fail, we might have heard from experts who actually never tried what they advise on and we think they know better. In the end we never really achieve anything because we never really do anything. Our habits as a result are based not on experience but on what we were told is possible or the right way to act. A child growing up is advised on how children should act and the same goes for adults. The faculties of our minds are literally programmed to accept certain beliefs and act in certain ways. In all these we never see just how fearfully and wonderfully made we are. Our life education teaches us to imagine the worst and the impossible. We stifle our creative genius because we have learnt to educate ourselves on a daily basis with what can be done and what cannot be done. We choose to experience life as we are taught not as it is. We learn to fear other cultures, or to hate anything foreign to what we perceive as normal, not because there is a reason but simply because we have learnt how to do it. As life goes, we carefully select to build our testimonies and experiences on what is considered the right thing to do.

Education is a wonderfully thing if it liberates the genius within us but is a terrible thing if it stifles our creative genius. If there is anything that time and chance has taught us is that everything under the sun is achievable. If we can fly in a plane then there is nothing we cannot do. Within each human being is a measure of genius and the faith to achieve. The last hurdle of achievement is the courage to obey the genius within us, but instead of obeying the genius we tend to sacrifice it and feel we are being noble. This is why some people think of great company ideas and lose them to their friends or business partners simply because they fail to jump the last hurdle. Genius is a violent process in which we violate the laws of education and conquer the norms of culture to create something greater. Genius requires that the cultures or behaviors set in our heads must be disregarded and to violently dispose of them because they are rooted deep within us. You cannot destroy a tree unless if you destroy its roots, and this takes effort and force.

The kingdom suffers much violence and the violent take it by force meaning that there is nothing good that can occur in life unless if you are prepared to sacrifice, and fight for it in order to see it come to fruition. If you sleep for a day the enemy comes and takes away your destiny. There are different forms of sleeping and these include delay and fear. Windows don’t close because the world is unfair, windows are meant to close, but they close on you because you are late or you are afraid. There is a time a season for everything if you fail to see this you delay and the opportunity flies, the only testimony you will have is regret and hope. Why not stand on hope, hold your faith and reach out to glory. What are you waiting for?
The violent take it by force; it’s not just enough being a genius it requires the overthrowing of old beliefs and fears. Success is not for the timid or the overcautious, but success is for those that reach and keep reaching until they have stretched enough to rise above the old imaginations. Success requires those who have dared to dream but have managed to pursue and overtake the dream. Don’t just follow but overtake. Whatever standard you have in your head is just a pace setter, you must overtake it so that you create a new standard. In 2012 dare to dream and to overtake whatever you thought was your standard. God has a plan.
