Planting Success

September 23, 2011 1 comment

Success is something that we are and is in our power to deny, delay or accept. What we focus on is the reason why we are either successful or not.

Planting
It’s obvious that to get an apple you need to plant an apple tree, likewise it should be obvious that to get success one needs to plant success yet this is never the case. In most cases we grow up planting anything and everything. Take an example of a person going to university, half the time they have no idea why they are going there, they go there because it is natural to go there, yet they will tell you they want to get a good career. The thing is, we are not born to have a career, we are born to enjoy life. a career is supposed to be a means to the end. What the potential university student should ask is what do they want to achieve in life, when they can answer that question then maybe they can become a successful university dropout like the Bill Gates of this world.

People plant all sorts of things in their lives, from bad relationships to bad partnerships yet all this can be avoided. Planting simply requires that one knows what one wants in life then find the seed. Sometimes the seed could be making a thousand proposals, it could inventing one gadget, it could be writing ten books, or a writing a hundred articles. The key is to know what you want in order to harvest what you need. Most of the time we plant oranges yet we want apples and the sad thing is we only discover thirty to forty years after college that we have planted the wrong seed. The same goes for countries and their leaderships, they select leaders who ten years down the line are nowhere near what they expected yet all along they kept convincing themselves that the orange will one day become an apple.

The Right Seed
Every seed has its germination time and growth time. For whatever it is you want they must be timing for each and every stage. If the tree is supposed to produce fruit after two years and does not, you give it one more chance, if it continues to fail you cut it down. Sometimes we compromise so much on the time such that before we know the year is finished and we have not achieved anything. We press on ideas that are dead, and push for changes that will never occur. The right seed will produce the right output at the right time, all it needs is the right elements. That should be a simple enough rule to follow, if you have the right seed, and have applied the right elements within the right time and place, then you should expect the right output if not then cut the tree down and go to the drawing board.

Success is something that we can have at any time as long as we are planting the right seed with the right conditions. If you notice that you are not getting anywhere in life, then you need to look at the seed you have been planting. It could be that your job is the wrong seed for you to expect success in owning a house, it could be that the partner you have is the wrong seed for you to succeed in business, it could be the boyfriend is the wrong seed for you to realize your dreams. What you spend your time on for the majority of your twenty four hours is the seed of your life. If you spend your time on booze you reap booze, if you spend your time on careers you reap a long career, it is all up to you. Most of us need to look at our lives and be honest in what we have slowed in. we are a result of our daily efforts of planting.

Success Grows
The right seed will always grow. It takes one step to get into the right path then a series of steps to get to your destination. If you have planted the right seed for success then all you need to concentrate on is the series of steps that you need. On level you need to water the plants, on the next level you need to protect the seed area, you need to weed out the pretenders, you need to prune the plant, you need to tend to the plant. Eventually your success will grow and multiply itself, it will follow that it will produce fruit which will need to be planted around you and in no time at all you will have a fully grown colony of the same seed. Watch your seed and plant your success.

The Need is the Product of Success

September 21, 2011 Leave a comment

Any person can sell a product but only a few can successful create a business. It is easy to enter the market but it’s not the same thing to actual succeed in making real money.

Money and the Business Idea
Money, by now most people should know is just an idea and the all one has to do is express that money in a product that people want and you have what we call a business. A marketing genius understands that a successful marketing campaign is where one can take a product and make people believe they need it even if they do not have any real need for it. The most successful companies are not the ones that have unique products but it is those that have successfully convinced people that they need the products on sell. It then follows that a market is simply the people that are convinced that they need your product. There is really no complicated definition for a market. Sometimes you need to convince people that they need your product or sometimes you just have to find the people that are already convinced that they need the product. At the end of it all the market has to do with the location and the feeling of the people.

On the other hand our society has created needs. One needs a car; one needs a phone, a laptop, a book, facials, exercise, and love amongst many other millions of needs. All these needs have been expressed in a value or idea which is where money comes in. If one needs a successful business then one needs to find a need in society. There are so many needs in society which are just begging to be valued. The person who values the need is the one who creates the business and thus makes money. Some people need an ear that listens to them, so we have therapists, some people need to communicate all the time so we give them phones, some want instant food so we give them takeaway shops, some just want to be entertained so we give them video clubs. The trick to a successful product thus becomes finding what the people need. The need is the product.

In society there are many problems that exist, from wars to lack of time. Finding a solution for problems is a business also. Solving the problems of inadequate time by making things faster gives you a product that you can sell. Problems exist everywhere some solved problems by invention whilst some by talking, it does not matter how or what is solved, the solution is the key to creating successful business. If you look carefully you will see problems in schools, companies, churches, NGOs, countries, families, individuals and the list can go on. Finding the problem and getting the solution is all you need to create business.
Success of the Product
When you have identified your product you basically have identified your market. Whenever a person comes up with a product they have a market in mind. If you think of shoes for women it’s because you are thinking of women. If however you just think shoes then you are lost. Every product has to be particular to a certain person or persons. The moment the product is not particular that is when it becomes general and located in the wrong place. Whatever product you may think of, it has to be accessible to the people where it solves a problem, is needed and where a feeling of need has been created. The greatest problem in business is not that people have no ideas, it is that they have ideas in the wrong place. There is a season and a time for everything, just because one idea worked today does not mean it will work tomorrow. Copy cats get excited about someone else’s success and try to replicate it in their environment but forgetting that the need factor is important. You cannot just start a business for the sake of starting one, but you have to start a business. There is nothing wrong in copying someone else’s business the only thing is that you must identify the need for it, after that it is ok to model that other person’s business.

It’s up to you
Any person can start any business but a marketing genius knows that the product must reflect the market. As long as the need exists there will always be business. If someone is stuck in desert then the easiest business is water, if someone is lost in a country the easiest business is a tour guide, all you have to do is establish the product, market and the service.

The Veil of Life

September 16, 2011 Leave a comment

They have eyes but cannot see and ears but cannot hear, sounds like some fictional statement but in all essence is perfectly true. What we call reality is something quite the opposite.

Nothing Is as It Seems
We see what we see and hear what we hear, in other words all humans base their lives according to experience, perception and expectation. In our minds we formulate reality according to what we understand or what we have selected to understand. Our lives are a selective and filtered by-product of our comfort and fears hidden in the roles we play as part of society. At the end of it all, we process reality subjectively. Ten people will always describe a scene differently because they all use their individuality subject to personal experiences, preferences, perceived expectations and societal peer pressures. Very few people actually know the truth simply because right and wrong are not a matter of fact but a matter of common agreement. Our laws are far from the truth but are more to cultural and norm acceptances. This might sound superficial but it is true. The veil of life comes in different levels which are explored in this article.

The Individual
The first level is that most people cannot see themselves. Only a few people have seen who they are, the rest of the world believes their identities are in the names they are labeled with at birth, the careers they serve all their lives, the associations they have in life and the assets they believe they own. So people judge their capacity not according to what they can actually achieve but according to what they believe they can achieve. We are more of a function of belief than anything else. Our limitations are set according to what we believe. Who are am I is a simple question but the answer is hidden in our own reflections or images. Our very existence is just an image of something else which casts a reflection. A simple example is our bodies; we run and we laugh not because our bodies can but because our minds run and laugh, yet by itself the body could not do any of these actions. Our bodies function by command which simply means the body is a reflection of something greater. It is like driving a car drunk. The police do not notice that the car is drunk but rather they see the erratic movements of the car as a reflection that the person who is driving the car is drunk. In the same way our bodies are just a reflection of something else.
Our capacity to understand truth has been limited by individual failures to see who we are. We then place ourselves in society according to how we perceive things. Some play the victim mentality, whilst some play the preacher mentality. Whether we admit it or not but the truth is that all individuals are just playing roles whilst the truly wise are living a lonely life. We play roles such as fathers, mothers, wives, oppressed, suppressed, hated, loved, loving, courageous, loyal, and many more. When asked why we do what we do the answer is always that it is the right thing, yet right and wrong are not necessarily truth they are just perspectives adopted over time and embedded in traditional culture. So many people are just playing roles, in life if you want to fool people all the time, just know what role they are playing and communicate with them according to their role. For example if someone believes that they are a victim of society, all you have to do is speak to them about oppression in society and hence they will think you understand what they feel. If someone has a father role, talk to them about kids and the challenges of family life; if someone thinks people are just unfair, tell them experiences of people being unfair; if someone thinks they are always right let them lead and just keep quiet and they will think that they are leading all the time.

The Society
The second veil is on the interaction level. If we cannot see who we are it then follows that we cannot see who everyone else is. Our associations are solely based on assumptions and probability. We socialize based on the assumption that the other person is thinking the same things as we do. These assumptions are what causes betrayals in society, where one president has complete trust in his minister yet the minister is just playing a role whilst deep in thought the minister is planning a coup. This is more like a Judas veil where, the closest person to you could be your greatest enemy, but very few of us can see this.

Society is a statistical place where we act according to past experiences of means and deviations. We trust people based not on our understanding of their hearts but based on their past records, at the same time we trust people based on the probability that they will come through based on the alignment of their words to our expectations. It is thus easy to fool any society into action because no society knows the truth, they all believe in statistics and probability. We attend meetings based on the probability that the person will show up not based on our knowledge of the actual intention of the person, the same thing applies to marriage, business partnerships, and any other relationships that exists. None or only a few of the existing relationships on the planet are based on truth, most of the relationships are calculated risks based on the strength of the words and actions. Interestingly enough people then get shocked when partnerships end or divorces occur yet if they really knew the truth they would have been set free long before.

Now due to the fact that society is an aggregation of assumption and collective agreement it is easy for one tyrant to rule over it which has been proven time and time again. In the same way it is easy for one person to take over the entire world and all power. From a societal and individual view reality to us is what we have agreed to assume and accept. If we look at the moon and say that it is a ball of cheese then it follows that as long as we agree it is a ball of cheese it will remain a ball of cheese until another perspective is accepted. This notion is what then leads to religions and various faiths or fundamental movements yet in all this there is only one truth, the rest are just a distorted or incomplete version of the truth. Society as a whole is incapable of seeing the truth until at the individual level one can see the truth.
The Conceptual Level
Finally the last level we will explore in this article is the conceptual level. This is the level which is hardest to touch or understand because it seems invisible to most of us. It is where words, thoughts, ideas, emotions, knowledge, life, truth, love, hate, confusion, covenants, bonds amongst many things actually reside. Though it seems invisible it is the level that governs the human mind and creates the greatest veil. It is in words that assumptions are solidified or broken, it is in imagination that reflections and roles are created, it is in love that life is kept, and finally it is in truth that reality exists. In order to fool the individual or the society, all one has to do is adopt the conceptual level according to what they desire. For example if you want to create a society and individuals who are war sympathetic, you just create a conceptual environment full of patriotism, threat to national sovereignty and strength of the nations. In other words you simply spread the word through news programming, media publications, educations syllabus, and entertainment productions; and in no time at all you have the kind of society you want.

It is through the conceptual veil that we begin to accept certain rights, or freedom of speech which may not be really freedom of speech. Bombard society with a certain concept long enough and sooner or later they will accept it as right. What was wrong yesterday can quickly become right today. Advertising uses the same trick on consumers, just bombard people with something they have no need for and sooner or later they will think it is a necessity in life.
Lifting the Veil
It is easy to lift the veil but the truth is that people prefer the roles they have learnt to accept. It is this comfort zone that creates a feeling of reality when most people are living a lie. We pretend yet we do not know we are pretending to be happy. We consistently ask the same stupid questions on what is life about yet we refuse the answers. We are consistently hurt by people, politicians, partners, spouses, children, not because we are stupid but simply because we are ignorant. Lifting the veil is not a lifetime job it is just one moment of truth.

A Vanity Affair

September 14, 2011 Leave a comment

You are born and then you die. You live, you fight, you win or you lose. Today you are sick tomorrow you are well, but in the midst of all life is wisdom far stranger than the truth so it may seem, we are all having an affair with vanity.

What’s the Point
Without a doubt everyone reading this article is going to die at some point, and will leave all their possessions, their careers, their children, their legacies, their dreams, their businesses their habits and all that they ever fought so hard for. Everything that a person does when they are alive will be left and it will seem like you never existed because the world will keep turning. Someone else will take over your businesses or your visions, things will not be the same, your house may get sold or just neglected. Subconsciously we are in a race against time, or rather to be more accurate we are in a race against death and in most cases age. In being aware that time seems not to be on our side we rush this and that and try so many things in life, we fight for so many things and like what some people would say, we fight for a place in the sun. The battles are hard and we are bruised, we never know if we have really won the war because our lives seem like the war.

In all considerations we are actually living to accomplish our dreams before we die but in accomplishing our dreams we die and we leave those dreams behind. A wise person can ask the question what is the point of all the hard work we do if we are going to leave it all. Why then spend years of education and careers only to die and leave it all? An observer from another world would deem us mad because we strive to acquire things we never brought into the world and then die and leave those things, what is the point? We are born owning nothing except our individuality and we die as individuals yet our hearts burn with desires for assets and success, failure to get this success leaves us sick and depressed yet these things are never eternal to us just as we are not eternal to them. So then, what is the point of this race? Yet in all this there is wisdom greater than death itself.

The Fights
Horribly, people kill for land, money and wealth; they kill for romance and love. Some die for noble quests whilst some are just sacrificial lambs to stupid causes. We fight for things that vanish in our death, things which never go beyond our timeline. We fight so hard trying to possess the land and the wealth yet when we die we never take it with us. All over the world genocides and crimes are committed in the name of now but at the end of the day the same perpetrators die and leave everything they killed for behind. Presidents rule with tyranny and hang on to power as if they are holding on to life itself. In the end dictators come and go, they rule and die, they speak and die, they steal and die, they lie and die, and they boast and die. They are all like the chaff, one day it is here the next day it goes with the wind. Yet beyond in their stupidity we can learn something greater than our education will teach us.

Is it the Pleasure?
Do we fight so hard for dear possessions because they are a necessity or because we are afraid or it is just for the pleasure of it. Obviously a person can live on a million dollars only but none never stopped in just being millionaires which is why we have billionaires in the world. There is enough food in the world to feed each person but famines still occur and people die from starvation. In one part of the world they eat till they get heart attacks and in other parts of the world they starve till their hearts fail. Some drive till they die from accidents whilst some walk till they step on a land mine, yet in all this everyone could have enough. We then need to ask ourselves are we selfish for pleasure or because of fear, do we live as slaves to ignorance or are we just stupid. It’s a paradoxical world and we are the pawns to our own imaginations. Wisdom has never been so obvious.

Breathe for a Moment
For moment think about every fight you have ever been in, think of every misunderstanding you have ever had, think of every tear you have cried; and every despair you have felt. Now think of every happy moment you have ever had, think of every smile you have ever had, think of every success that made your day. For a moment think of yourself dead. Think and see yourself dead, and look at your life. Does anything that you have ever done really make sense? What did you live for in your life? When you were sad was it worth it to finish the day being sad or happy? What decisions did you make which were useful to you? For moment imagine you are dead, what was the point to your life? Think about it for a while, pretend you are reading about your life, what did you achieve?

The Wisdom of Vanity
Understand this, it has all been an affair with vanity that you have been having. Instead of living with truth you have been cheating on life with vanity. Instead of living in truth you have been distracted by vanity. We forget that truth does not die but vanity does, we step into lies but truth remains. When you die your love never dies, your thought never leave you and your feelings will always be there. Everything else will go but the truth will remain. So why waste time with things that do not make sense, simple, because we are in a passionate affair with vanity.

Moment In Life

September 8, 2011 Leave a comment

Success in life is the perfect execution of the moment in life. It requires an understanding of principles which make a moment so critical to the achievement of anything.

In physics a moment is described as the tendency of a force to twist or rotate an object. Without being too scientific in life every objective requires a greater force in order for that objective to be achieved. Whatever dreams, visions or wishes that one may have will require a certain amount of force to make it happen. Physics describes many different types of moments but in this article we shall stick to simplicity. If two people push an object from opposing sides the only one between the two people who can succeed in their objective is the one who has more push force. Whatever it is that you want to achieve in life, you need to understand the level of effort required in order to succeed. The moment is what you need to acquire otherwise you will only get frustrated. The greatest moments create the greatest achievements given that the opposing force is less than the force you apply. If you want to succeed in life then note your objective and also note your shortcomings, and your disadvantages. Also note the adversities you face in achieving these goals. When you understand the strength of your opposing force then you can understand what level of effort is needed. You cannot succeed in business if you do not understand the competition and the market demand. You need to understand these forces otherwise the business will fail. Whatever goal you set, first understand the moment required for that moment.

In time we have moments which can measured by seconds, minutes, days, years or different measuring units. In any effort in life there is that moment that changes history on a global, national, village or individual level. It is that critical point in time in which events occurred which tipped the world to a certain view, perception, achievements or simply just culture. For every second that exists there is a moment in which an outcome can be found. The wise person has to be able to read the time to understand what works for that moment. For example some business will work well in one moment in time whilst others will fail. The same business idea that could have failed last year can work perfectly in the next year to amazing proportions. The trick or rather the onus on us is to be able to read the time and decipher what works and what does not work. It is like a married couple, both understand that there are certain times in the day that they can talk about certain things and they will agree but they are certain times when moments are not conducive for the certain conversations. Knowing the moment of life is crucial to the success of life. Failure is not necessarily as a result of underachievement sometimes it is simply because of planting in the wrong season.

In statistics the method of moments put in layman’s terms helps to find certain population parameters with regard to the identified value. This could be finding the mean, variance or the median amongst many other values. Life is like that; we need to know what we want so that we can calculate the risks, the opportunities, the places we need to be, and the effort we need. If we have no idea what we want in other words if we cannot identify that first moment value we might never achieve anything useful in life. Statistics will give different forms of calculations with regard to obtaining the required variables and we have the same formulas in our lives. We need to be able to discern the best for us, and the best for achievement. In life you need that statistical moment which you can work with otherwise you become another pawn in a ruthless game in which choices are made for you. If you know what you want and understand your moment, then you are better placed to make the right decisions that get you to where you want to be in life. It will not always be easy but at least if you know what you want, you can make calculated risks and effort.

When we understand the moment of life we can arrive to that moment which is defined as the time of perfection, success, excellence and achievement. Wisdom has never been so simple but it is up to use it or to understand and execute a moment in life.

What Do You Want?

September 5, 2011 Leave a comment

Ever wondered what you really want in life? Some people will say they want houses whilst some will speak of happiness yet in real essence most people do not really know what they want.

Most people are unhappy because they speak in general and hence have no idea what exactly they want in life. If you ask a person what they want in life the most likely answer is that they want to be happy. Happiness is a good thing but how many people actually know what it means to be happy or what is required? As children we are taught that once we grow up our dreams will come true and we will be happy. The problem with those expectations is that they never really identify what is happiness and where it comes from. In the end we have married people around us who just don’t get why happiness is eluding them and why the other person is failing to make them happy.

We speak in general most of the time which is why we do not know what we want. Some might say I want a successful business, but they usually have no idea what they want to be successful in exactly or the level of success or what it means to be successful. So we live thinking that we cannot find success yet the truth is we are looking in vain because we never really indentify what we want in the first place. Ask anyone if they want to be rich and they will tell you that it is obvious yet they never really understand what it means to be rich or to have enough. There are people who make so much money in a year but are just about getting along simply because the money just never seems to cover everything yet they are making a fortune.

If you want to move in life in general then speak in general, but if you want to live in life successfully then speak in specific things. When looking for a job a person will send their resumes just about to everyone and any company, in the end they find jobs which do not make sense or work in environments that they never really wanted in the first place. What results is frustration, sadness, depression and hate. We end up hating where we are and what we do simply because it makes no sense to us anymore. The same thing happens in relationships where one person can say they want a partner, who makes them laugh, yet relationships are not just about laughing together, there is more to it. If you are planning to live with someone then there is quite the checklist but of course love should be first. If love is first then the rest is easier to handle.

Knowing what you want can increase your powers of focus. It becomes easy to know exactly what to do and what to concentrate on. Writing a list down at the beginning of the year is one way to help your mind to be realistic. Instead of just writing it down why not be judge and jury, question yourself on what you want and what is required. In the end you will notice that you will fully understand what you really want. Then look at what you are doing today or in your life, and then ask yourself if this will lead you to getting what you want in life. If you are honest with yourself you might just notice that ninety percent of your life is spent on useless activities. Ninety percent may sound harsh but that is how it is.
