When Life Rains

August 31, 2010 Leave a comment

There are different types of precipitation on earth just as they are different types of problems in life. For each type of rain you face you need to decide what strategy you have in order to withstand the rains. For some storms, you may need to quieten the storm, for some you may need to build an ark whilst for some rain you may need to just wait it out. God has a plan for each type of rain for everything on earth and we too should have a plan for each type of rain that comes in our lives.

In Africa it rains suddenly sometimes almost without warning. You can wake up and all you see is the sky opened up and it never seems like it will stop. Usually we have two choices, if the rain is really heavy we stay indoors until it stops because we know it will stop or if it is light rain we venture out and head towards our destination. No matter how heavy the rain is we have confidence that the rains will stop and the sun will appear. Such is life when things do not make sense, when it seems you are just battling all the time and there are no signs of sunshine. Just as the rain, everything will end and the sun will come out. We know this because we have seen it time and time again, no matter how terrible the weather it will come to an end at some point and sunshine will come. Look at your most difficult situations and see what type of rain you have. If you think you can venture out while it is raining then do not waste time, please go out and brave the storm. If you think the storm is too much at the moment then wait it out, it will end. Every problem has a solution and if it seems like it has no solution then that problem is just a lie.

When the storm is too heavy our problem is not the rain it is the fact that sometime we do not have enough cover to protect us if we were to venture out. Sometimes it is not about the rain it’s about our umbrellas, or vehicles. If we see that whenever it rains we are stuck inside it’s because we are not concentrating on the solution because the same rain is always shutting us in. We should move from different levels of storms with different levels of covers. When it rained in Noah’s time he waited it out in the ark because he knew the clouds will clear even if it took almost a year for dry land to appear again. His ark was his solution, His patience his strategy and God was his security. The rain will stop; just decide what you must do when it rains, whilst it’s raining and after it stops raining.

When it rains do not be discouraged but take heart and think of what you have to do. Many challenges will come which you may not expect but remember there is nothing new in life all that happens has happened before. God has a plan, to all my friends who feel it’s raining, lots of love.

Gen 9:16  And the rainbow shall be in the cloud. And I will look upon it that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

Above The Waters, Above the Problems

August 31, 2010 2 comments

Problems come in so many different shapes that they can sometimes seem to cover everything we believe in. When you look at your life sometimes it may seem like the problems are a stretch of water going over and over everything that you believe in or your very existence.  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth but before that his spirit hovered over the waters.

No matter how deep problems maybe there is always a solution but the solution cannot be found if you are drowning within the problems. If you are inside the oceans of problems you become part of the problem and it becomes difficult to solve it. When you find yourself covered in problems sometimes the best thing to do is to hover on top. In other words it is a good thing to become an observer for a while. This is done in order to understand the problem first before you come up with solutions to the problems. Your spirit instead of becoming agitated about the deepness of the problem becomes more comprehensive of the possible solutions. If you are inside the oceans of problems there is always that tendency to be overwhelmed by the size of the problems. It is like standing at the base of the mountain and wondering how you could ever climb it.

Hovering above the waters also requires that you see the extent of the problem. You do not look at the problem in order to admire it but you look at the problem in order to see how far your solution has to go. Most of the times we underestimate the problems thinking that we know what we have to do and then we are surprised just how wide the problem is. Any good leader knows that in order to solve the problem one has to listen and hear from all the different parts of the populations. If you neglect to this you may just miss a part which could more problematic in the future than the one you thought you solved.

Problems will come and they will go, how long they stay is up to how we approach dealing with them. If we chose to be part of the problem by swimming with the problem we will soon discover that our every thought is oriented towards being a problem. In other words we are defeated before we even start. It is thus necessary to ensure that we see ourselves not as part of the problem but as a separate entity from the problem. The moment we become part of the problem in our minds we will never solve it. This is why we begin to feel like life is like that and we cannot see anything different. As time goes we begin to think that there can never be a solution and we just learn to swim with the rest of the crowd.

Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
