Don’t Get Carried Away

June 26, 2014 6 comments

In the serenity or bustle of life the leaves may be blown away by the slightest of a gentle breeze or the tempest of the strong winds. Many doctrines, news reports, beliefs and doubts will seek to promote themselves as masters of one’s life such that your trajectory in life is not determined by you but by the fears planted within one’s life course. In time the strongest of the leaves which is not fed wilts and the gentlest of the breeze will carry it away.

In life decide what you believe in and stand strong by your standards. Life is not always poetic and romantic in most cases it will prove to be filled with storms and obstacles not meant to urge you on but to wilt your attempt to greatness. Greatness is not the achievement of the impossible but the fulfillment of one’s potential. The fulfillment of one’s potential is not in the strength of one’s stance but in the connection to the roots that nourish your beliefs. Within each passing moment the world will change, new concoctions will be stirred and fed to the world but do not be swayed by the latest hint of wisdom that drowns a nation but be convinced by the truth that empowers the roots.

In you stay in life, the sun will increase its heat, the winter will bring a chill to occasions but stay strong, connected to your roots that nourish who you are. In the tempest of the moment do not be convinced by the argument but be convinced by the truth that has no doubt. If you do not stand or stay connected to your roots you will be carried away from that which was yours. Life will sway you into a breeze like a wilted leaf and your destiny will be decided by the will of the winds. Every gossip has its merit buts its standard may not be for your standing. Test all things never be indoctrinated by a small stream of water, it may have no eternal source but may just be a stream created from a bucket of water poured on the ground. Test the source of the water before you believe in its power to nourish you. True nourishment is not in the temporary but in the everlasting.

Don’t get carried away with every word that passes your way. Any journey must prove itself before it is taken. The wise know that the victory of the journey is not in arrival but in the map. Do not be swayed by that which has no plotting that you can see, or else you may be dumped in the ditches of life and never have a fighting chance. Find the map and see the alternative routes, you might one day in your journey need to change course. Know where you come from before you know where you are going, not every destiny is ripe with riches but where you come from sets the standard of what you must achieve in equality or beyond.

In time the word does change but let your roots be strong. Do not be carried away.

As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;

Knowledge Defines Fear and Faith: Part 1

February 8, 2012 Leave a comment

The average person is said to think at least 70 000 times in a day whilst using 12 percent of their brain for conscious thought and 88% for subconscious thought. Our memory virtually stores everything, in other words, it keeps memory of everything and anything, our only problem is knowing how to remember. Sometimes we just need to wonder what we spend all our energy thinking about. Yet after all this is said, we find that as humans our knowledge is very little and we make so many mistakes as a result.

Knowledge
Knowledge basically is having the understanding of why, how, what and when. A person truly understands something when they are aware of the reasons why things happen, when they happen, how they happen and what exactly is happening. Knowledge is therefore the substance which has been proved to exist and which is definite and cannot be questioned or doubted. For example understanding that a car needs fuel to move is knowledge but believing that the world is flat is a theory or just a belief. Scientist thought Pluto was a planet yet now they know it’s not a planet meaning that in the first place they just supposed based on beliefs and indicators not on the actual substance itself. Now, how does knowledge define fear and faith?

How Humans Operate
Humans base their actions on thoughts, in other words every action is preceded by conscious and subconscious thought. Now those thoughts are either based on a guess, a perception, a belief, a feeling, instinct or the knowledge of something, most of the time our thoughts are based on belief and perception, and not knowledge. So we think we love someone but do not know what love is, or we think life is unfair but we do not know how to be successful, we believe every politician because we do not know their hearts. In the end we live our lives on beliefs and perceptions. You believe your car is safe because you were told by the mechanic that but you have no idea how the car safety works or you believe that the pilot flying the plane is qualified but have no idea if this is true so you work on supposition and belief. Ninety-nine percent of the world does not ask why which is why 1 percent of the world is wealthy and the rest are just machines of culture and tradition. Most of us never ask ourselves why things work they way they do, we are not even aware how they work or what they are. We are mostly waiting for the when to happen, in other words we just want to see things happening hence we believe in when. That is why we talk of when I am married, when I am rich, when I grow up, when I find my Mr. Right, when, I graduate, when I start my business and the list goes on. Have you ever asked why do I want to get married, why do I want to start a business, why do I need to do what I do. When you understand the why you will understand how, what, and when. Our 70 000 times a day thoughts should be answering the why, what and the how then lastly the when. It’s like a choosing a car, you need to ask why you need it, why this particular car, what will it do for you, how long will it last, how well will it drive and the list of questions go on.

How Fear Works
In the absence of knowledge is an empty space which must be filled with something. Life does not allow anything to be empty which is why your brain thinks 70 000 times in day and likewise where there is no knowledge of something the empty space is quickly filled by a belief. That belief can either be a good guess or it’s a lie. Remember you are either hot or cold, there is no in between, either you are right or you are wrong. For example people did not know what the shape of the earth was so they believed that it was flat and for a long time this is was the theory which everyone was taught yet it is was a lie. Another example is love, because people don’t know what it is most people think love is when someone buys a present, calls you or tells you that they love them of which in most cases it is not. Now fear is a belief that something bad or evil will happen simply because you do not know the solution to a problem. If you know the why, the what, the how and the when then there should be no fear. Sounds simple, but not really, most people think 70 000 times and half of that 70 000 times they are thinking why they should not do what they really want, in other words you are cultured to think the opposite of what you really need. We live in a world ruled by tradition and culture which is formed on ignorance, and because we are comfortable with the ignorance and beliefs so we feel safe. Some cultures promote insane practices without ever knowing why they do it; they do it because they believe it is the right thing to do. Most of our mistakes are as a result of ignorance which grew into fear. Fear of being alone, fear of being labeled, fear of failure, fear of time, fear of death, fear of losing, all of these simply because we have no knowledge. In the absence of knowledge the people perish.

How Faith Works
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The substance is the knowledge and evidence is the knowledge. In the absence of evidence there is no knowledge, only belief. Belief which has no evidence can be either be the truth or be a lie. If you believe in God, there must be evidence for that belief to be faith, if you believe in life there must be evidence of a living person. Faith can only be proved by works or actions which show the existence of the knowledge. However here is the secret to all there is to faith, those who know something exists but have never seen it are more powerful than those who need to see it in order to believe. If you want to know that something exists which you have never seen then you must attain understanding and wisdom. Understanding is the why, how, when and what; when you can answer all this without a doubt in your mind then you have walked into faith. The actions then become something which is automatic. The most successful people are the people that had the faith to wait for what they knew was right, to create what was correct and to live with what was perfect for them. God has a plan.

Tackling Fear

September 3, 2010 Leave a comment

In our lifetimes we all face fear in one thing or another, it maybe the fear of people, governments, situations or fear of the future. In all of this we can become so gripped with fear that we never really live beyond the ordinary and our lives just end as a potential that never matured.

As we grow up we quickly learn fear either from experience or simply from the many voices around us, it maybe that we have fear because of what our friends told us or our parents, politicians or just from movies and songs. Without doubt we make most of our decisions according to how much fear we overcome because of the faith we have. Now talking about overcoming fear can sound very dogmatic or it can be a practical thing. It is one thing to say I am not afraid but it is also another thing to overcome fear. It is necessary to believe that one can overcome fear but at the end of the day that belief can only be proved when you overcome the fear.

Overcoming fear is not a stepped approach or rather one does not need a manual which spells out how to overcome fear. Jesus was famous for always telling people have no fear. Jesus recognised that fear has entrenched itself into people such that it has become a culture. We as people are now such firm believers of fear that we think it is natural to fear yet fear is actually not natural, in any case fear is an enemy that comes in the form of whispers. It just whispers into your mind and soul and you decide to listen. If a person wants to defeat fear all they have to do is decide and do. It is like deciding to wake up, you have a choice, if you think too much you might not wake up at the time which you intended, such is the way fear works. Consequences do exist in life for anything we do but does it mean we give up living the way we really need? Tackling fear is a matter of decision.

As long as a person sees themselves as inferior they will always have fear because they will always feel threatened by situations. However, if you believe that you are blessed and that you can overcome anything then fear must not become part of your culture. There is a difference between fear and respect. You can respect your leaders but it does not mean you must fear them. You can respect your elders but it does not mean you must fear them; the only being whom we should fear is the one who is able to destroy both body and spirit. Not having fear is not an opportunity to commit illegal acts but is a door to do the right things. If we decide that we are not afraid then we must teach our children differently, we must teach them that shadows can be respected but not feared, poisonous snakes deserve their respect but not our fear. It is at this early age that the tone is set as to what whispers your children will listen to.

You decide what deserves your fear. What you decide to give your fear to is what will rule you and will decide what level or standard of life you will have. If you do not fear anything in the world then there is nothing you cannot accomplish. You need to decide in your life what deserves your fear.

No Fear

March 31, 2010 Leave a comment

You woke up today because you are not afraid of life. You stood outside because you have no fear of the sun. You crossed the road because you have no fear of the cars; you drove today because you are not afraid of other drivers. You entered your office because you are not afraid of work. You loved because you are not afraid of love. You looked at yourself because self does not frighten you. You dream because sleep is not something you would fear. You eat because you are not afraid of food. You use the phone because you are not afraid of it. You have no fear of so many things. So why add fear to your life when your every routine tells us that you are not afraid? Have no fear.

Just because Life’s Degree in Fear is free does not mean we should graduate

March 26, 2010 Leave a comment

Contrary to most understanding university at the highest level is indeed free. There are different modules on offer which we can decide to enroll for. Graduation is usually evident as it can be seen in our personalities where permanent traits or habits are entrenched in us. You can tell when someone is studying very hard to pass certain modules in a particular semester by the way they put their effort into it. There is that semester for learning ‘’decision making at a young age’’ where modules offered include, constant101, consistency102, truth103, focus104, inferiority105, doubt106, double mindness107 which we are all free to choose. Each student of course gets practical lessons which are what we see everyday in their lives either expressing themselves in certain ways. The best thing about this university is that it instills a sense of loyalty to students as they try as hard as possible to be as practical as possible in their modules and studies. Some people go as far as to earn masters degrees and PHD by coming up with such practical ways of expressing their degrees in levels never seen before. Some attain “immortal fear” which is a Masters Degree in “Fear”, some attain “Eternal Truth” which is a PHD to “Honesty”.

Of course they are drawbacks in this university. Like any other universities we have students who excel at what they study, we have crash programs for the most gifted in their different areas of study, and of course not so gifted students. Now and then you have your drop outs who decide that particular degrees are not for them , students who switch programs in between semesters, students who repeat their courses, and students who just never look like they will ever graduate. Certificates which student earn are proudly displayed in their hearts and the way they talk, from just a conversation with a person you will know which degree and modules they majored in. Most people go on to achieve great things because of their degrees while others go on to achieve absolutely nothing. Out of curiosity, what are you studying or what have you qualified in?
