Peace be Still

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.

We will not fear for we know we are not fear, we are not called by fear neither do we answer to the name of fear. Yes the storms may roar and the waves may crash on us with such violence yet we will stand strong for we are not called to fear neither are we acquainted to fear. We are a special people that have dined with wisdom and seen knowledge for we know that all things are in their seasons. There is nothing new in storms; neither is there anything different about violence. In ages and in times it has all happened before, us being within it is a circumstance but it does not define who we are. Show me something new in fear I will show you a lie. The earth turns daily in its age but still we maintain, peace, be still.

Disappointments will occur, sometimes things will go short, life will cease and days will be numbered but fear, fear is not in our understanding. We understand the times and the seasons but a season of fear we have never seen it or understood it. Our minds are stilled in peace, in a balance of life for we have understood that all things are, what is, is and what is not, is not. If a mountain be moved so be it, but if it stays so be it, what will be, will be, what will not, will not. Life is an event, we create what we choose, and what we may not choose may occur, these are all events. Probability will occur in time, time and chance will exist but peace that is something that stays forever.

Though our friends may panic, though the world may stop and the money may burn we maintain that peace, be still. We stand in the boat of life and command peace, we stand bold in our minds assured of greatness and success. We have seen that the greatest power is love and peace is love. In our faith we know that that peace is but ours for the taking. In our understanding we have seen that even in the hurricane there is an eye for peace, in the midst of the battle there is a ground for peace, in the midst of the fire there is an opportunity to quench the fire, in the heat of the argument the gentle answer will find the peace, in the stampede of the animals the security of life will bring calmness, in the trials of the life there is a judgment that can bring peace.

There is a secret which one finds in peace, the deep calls to the deep, in the height of every waterfall; behind the falling waters is a place of peace. Do not look for fear for surely you will find it rather find the place for peace, fight not to continue the violence but fight to establish the peace. There is a good war and an evil war, the good war fights for peace, the evil war fights for supremacy. In your heart there is a place of peace, when you find it spread it to your mind, influence the spirit and teach the body the way of peace, in time you will realize the power of calmness. In calmness the heavens and the earth were formed, within the peace, babies were born and in the silence, peace is established. He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.

Thus, Christians learn through their experiences to have the same attitude or mind found in Christ, “who for the joy set before him endured the cross.” (Philippians 2:5; Hebrews 12:2) The joy which allowed Jesus to endure the heaviness of his cross—a cross which he bore for three and a half years—was the knowledge of God’s loving plan for all mankind. Having confidence in God’s plan, and how it would benefit His entire creation, is what provided the joy that helped Jesus endure his cross. This is the same joy which will carry the faithful through every trial. And so, we can rejoice, even though there are times of fear and distress, for we realize that there is a purpose to the suffering.
